Faith is my shield! Aerion the Faithful.

Well, it’s that time again. Time for some more lovely art. Continuing my current pattern, this post is about another fantastic artist. This time I am going to look at Aerion the Faithful.

Aerion has a very distinctive style, and does not use Photoshop to create his art. No, this is all done by hand. And by looking at the amazing work, I still find it hard to believe. Lets begin shall we?

First up we have a rather intimidating Iron Hand. I love the way Aerion has done the black and flesh tones, and the metals are very impressive. Next, we have an Eldar Autarch. I find myself a very big fan of how in-human the Eldar looks. The long fingers and thin limbs make it look alien, as the Eldar should. Moving on, we have a pre-heresy Thousand Son. Aerion has really fleshed out the Egyptian theme with this piece, and the sand wyrm in the back is spectacular.

These next three images are Blood Angels themed, and they all look wonderful. The first one, Follow The Leader, is a fantastic piece. The spirit and feel of the Blood Angels is there, and the variety in red gives it a lot of depth. The next one is a Flesh Tearer, one of the Blood Angels successors, and this chap is really scary. Not only does he have over sized fists, and a face only a mother could love, but inside the fists are chainswords. Scary stuff. And last is The Blood. I won’t say much, but it is defiantly one of my favorites. I love the feel of the characters in this one, particularly Astaroth, and I would love to see more pieces of other Chapters based of this setup.

Lets finish of with the best of the best, shall we? First is The Mournival. If you have yet to read the Black Library novel Horus Rising, then I recommend you go do that. All four characters in this piece are the four main characters in the novel. See the chap second on the right? The one with the full moon? His name is Abaddon, first Captain of the Luna Wolves. Moving on, we have Vow. What I love about this one is the variety in the characters and Chapters. We have Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, White Scars, Carcharodons, and many more. Can you name all the Chapters? Last is Epic, and the title is very suiting. This is the crowning of Horus as the Warmaster, at  the end of the Ullanor Crusade. I feel that this is an amazing portrayal of not only The Emperor, but Horus as well.

That’s all for now. If you liked the art I have shown here, go take a look at Aerions Deviantart page. He has a lot more art on show, including many Primarch pieces, a lot of Warhammer art, and even a comic, named Free Mars. Maybe next time we will look at a single army or Chapter. I will take suggestion, so if you have an idea, please leave it in the comments section below.
